Dyslexia in K-2: Spring 2026

The Center is excited to announce the launch of a new online learning platform where educators will be able to access high-quality professional learning and development opportunities in a self-paced, asynchronous format.

Our first module, Dyslexia in K-2: An Introduction to Understanding, Identifying, and Responding to Characteristics of Dyslexia in the Primary Grades is now available! This course was developed by the team at the Tennessee Center for the Study and Treatment of Dyslexia at Middle Tennessee State University. Our goal is to better equip pre-service and in-service general and special education teachers, reading specialists, interventionists, literacy coaches, and other education professionals to identify risk indicators and characteristics of dyslexia in primary grade students and to use structured literacy to intensify instruction for these learners.

Learners work at their own pace between January 15 and May 31, 2026 to complete the course.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate of completion for eight hours of professional development.
